Friends of Football’s third annual golf day will be held at Auckland’s Maungakiekie Golf Club on Friday April 28.

The independent supporter group will host the event in partnership with New Zealand Football, giving the chance for football enthusiasts to catch up for a round of golf and a crack at some seriously good prizes.

The golf day has become a popular item on the football calendar with more than 30 teams of four golfers competing for the chance to land major prizes for holes-in-one, long drives and closest-to-the-pin.

But the real fun is in catching up as past and present footballers – including All Whites – swap stories and enjoy each other’s company.

After two years at Akarana Golf Club, Friends of Football have booked this year’s event at Maungakiekie Golf Club in Mt Roskill.

Entries are open for teams of four, or you can enter as an individual and be placed within a team. Costs are $95pp or $360 for a team.

The competition is played with the Ambrose Format with a shotgun start at 12.15pm and the day finishes with food, drink and prize presentations in the clubhouse.

Entry fee covers a goodies bag on arrival, a hamburger lunch and refreshments during play, with a complimentary drink after play, with platters of food supplied to each team.
