Wellington Phoenix will play Melbourne Victory in the semi-final of the FFA Cup, a fixture that adds more pressure to the club’s fixture pile-up.
The date of the sudden death cup tie has yet to be scheduled, and the second semi-final participants have still to be determined as the Sydney v Brisbane Roar quarter-final won’t go ahead till January 12.
The winner of that game will meet Central Coast.
Meanwhile, the Wellington Phoenix face a packed fixture schedule after their A-League games against Central Coast and Brisbane Roar were postponed due to cases of COVID-19.
Their round nine match against the Newcastle Jets has been moved from Wollongong to Sydney’s Netstrata Jubilee Stadium (Saturday January 8, 7.05pm NZT) due to COVID-related staffing issues with the television broadcaster.
