Your chance to share in the exciting build up to the All Whites’ World Cup play-off

Members of the 1982 All Whites will be special guests at a Friends of Football lunch in the build-up to New Zealand’s FIFA World Cup play-off game against Costa Rica.

And where better to hold the lunch on the 40th anniversary of the ’82 team’s World Cup qualification?

Yes, we will host the lunch in the South Stand function room, overlooking the pitch at Mt Smart Stadium, the scene of so many World Cup memories.

The lunch will be held from noon till 2.30pm (doors open 11.30am) on Tuesday June 14 — the day before New Zealand meet Costa Rica in their sudden-death match in Doha.

Our guests will include former All Whites, national coaches and other well-known football personalities, who will help share their insights into the challenge facing the 2022 All Whites.

The 1982 All Whites … the first to reach a finals tournament.

It’s also a chance to acknowledge members of the 1982 World Cup squad gathering in Auckland to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their ground-breaking success when they became the first New Zealand team to qualify for a finals tournament.
