Suddenly, it’s game on for the Lotto NRFL first division title!

While league leaders West Coast Rangers lost at East Coast Bays, Manurewa continue to stalk them and have moved to within three points of the top spot.

Rewa beat Waitemata 4-0, extending their unbeaten run to seven games.

Here’s our round-up of latest games:

Double by Archer helps Bay topple league leaders

A double by Logan Archer helped East Coast Bays to an upset 2-1 win against first division leaders West Coast Rangers.

The match at Bay City Park seemed to be heading to a scoreless first half when Archer found the net for his first goal of the season, giving Bays the lead at the break.

Just after the hour, Archer doubled the lead for Bays and the upset looked on.

Rangers, who had conceded only five times in their previous 12 games, managed a consolation goal when Josh Armitt scored five minutes into added time.

Rangers lost Jamie Mason to a red card in added time, the last act in a frustrating day which saw four yellow cards for the visitors.

Rewa go seven games without defeat after routine win against Waitemata

Manurewa extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a comfortable 4-0 win against Waitemata at Jellicoe Park.

Nicolas Bobadilla put Rewa ahead in the 20th minute and Luis Natera added a second just before half-time.

All White Monty Patterson scored his ninth goal of the season when he extended Manurewa’s lead to 3-0 in the 78th minute.

Substitute Andre Estay completed the scoring with a goal in the 82nd minute.

Fa’apoi hat-trick inspires Fencibles to 4-1 win against Rovers

A hat-trick from captain Sione Fa’apoi provided the platform for an emphatic win by Fencibles United against Northern Rovers at Riverhills Park.

Fa’apoi opened the scoring in the 8th minute.

Zachary Tobin doubled United’s lead in the 19th minute and then Fa’apoi scored his second two minutes later.

The home side took their 3-0 lead into half-time.

Rovers pulled back a goal in the 69th minute through substitute Jason Quinlan.

But Fa’apoi wasn’t finished and he completed his hat-trick with Fencibles’ fourth goal in the 85th minute.

Tauranga recover from horror start to beat Albany 4-2

Tauranga had the worst possible start at Links Avenue when they found themselves two goals down after only eight minutes in their game against Albany United.

An own goal by Adam Davidson, and a Benjamin Roberts goal had provided Albany with a flying start.

Tauranga got back into the game as the first half went into added time.

Campbell Higgins got to a corner and headed home to send the teams into the break with Albany leading 2-1.

The Tauranga recovery resumed a few minutes into the second spell when Liam Molloy levelled.

Tauranga coach Barry Gardiner introduced substitute Jonty Bidois to the game in the 76th minute and he made an immediate impact, putting his side ahead for the first time.

Bidois scored his second in added time, to complete the Tauranga comeback.

Ponies and MAP in goalless deadlock

A scoreless draw did neither side any favours for their league placings when Ellerslie and Mt Albert Ponsonby shared the points at Michaels Ave.

Ellerslie ‘keeper Keegan Hansen kept his side in the game with a good save early in the second half.
