Waikato footballers will be able to play on the portable futsal-sized pitch being used to promote this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The pitch — known as the Unity Pitch — will be in Hamilton for two days in mid-February, providing opportunities for junior, youth and senior players to have some fun (as well as spectators).

Where
The colourful 15m x 25 m pitch will be located on the front lawn of The Verandah Café, Hamilton Lake Domain.
With signage around the pitch and a sound system in full flight, it will provide a fun, unique experience.
When
Friday February 17, 2023
4-6pm – Festive Unity Pitch 5-a-side Juniors/Youth.
The Football Ferns are playing at Waikato Stadium at 7pm that night.
Saturday Febuary 18, 2023
10-12pm – Festive Unity Pitch 5 a-side 18+/Seniors.
How to play
- 20 min game/team.
- Minimum of 5 players per team, no maximum number.
- Male or female – all welcome.
- Futsal/shoes only (no boots).
- Limited team spots available.
- Spot prizes.
