Connecting Football — a free workshop to help the promotion of our sport

Northern Region Football and Friends of Football are co-hosting a free one-day workshop to help anyone who wants to improve the promotion of our sport through communications.

Called Connecting Football, the March 11 workshop is for anyone already working in communications or who wants to develop skills in:

  • Writing about football.
  • Use of social media.
  • Creating online content.
  • Photography or videography.
  • Editing match programmes.

You might already be working in one of more of these areas with a club, or you might just fancy a go!

We can help you connect with a club if you have skills and are keen to help with their comms.

The Friends of Football website is also looking to grow its team of volunteer writers, and this workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about how to get into football writing.

Workshop hosts

Northern Region Football makes football and futsal happen from the Far North to South Auckland. We’re one of New Zealand Football’s six football Federations and drive thriving clubs, quality competitions and access for all.

Friends of Football is an independent group of people with a common interest in sharing their love of the ‘beautiful game’ and its rich and proud history as the globe’s most popular team sport. We’re passionate about protecting and promoting the positive aspects of the game to others — young and old — and the benefits it provides to the wider community.
