Ferns midfielder Malia Steinmetz collects winners’ medal in Danish Superliga

New Zealand international midfielder Malia Steinmetz is celebrating winning the Danish Women’s Superliga with her FC Nordsjaelland club.

Steinmetz (25), who has 31 caps for the Football Ferns, has been a key player in the club’s late charge for the title, which they won with a last-round 1-1 draw with title rivals IF Brøndby.

Auckland-born Steinmetz joined FC Nordsjaellandk on a two-year contract in August 2023, having previously played for women’s A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers.

FC Nordsjaelland have qualified to play in next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.
