Auckland City will hold trials in September for male and female players wanting to play in the 2024 Youth Futsal Championship.
Since 2021, the club has partnered with Northern Region Football to field regional representative teams in the national tournament.
Under the guidance of Futsal White Dylan Manickum and Futsal Ferns head coach Nic Downes, the 2024 programme will feature two girls’ teams and two boys’ teams in the U-15 and U-19 age categories.
Futsal players from across the Auckland region can trial for these representative teams.
The teams will undergo a seven-week training programme leading to the national tournament, which will be held in Wellington from Saturday December 7 to Tuesday December 10, 2024.
“Our training programme will immerse the players in futsal-specific technical and tactical sessions with our specialist futsal coaches,” Manickum told Auckland FC’s website.
“Teams will then take to court to compete against the best futsal players from across the country over four days in Wellington,” he said.
Team trials are scheduled for Wednesday September 18 and 25 for girls, and Friday September 20 and 27 for boys.
