New A-League club Auckland FC are recruiting a team of volunteers to help the club stage their 13 home games at Go Media Stadium, Mt Smart.
“Our volunteers play an important role in getting our teams on the pitch each and every match day, and their work helps to create a memorable and entertaining experience for all fans,” the club says in its call for applications.
“We’re looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to help us create unforgettable match day experiences. Whether you’re interested in operations, fan engagement, hospitality, or event management, we have a place for you on our team.”

Volunteer roles
The volunteer roles include:
- Competition and event management volunteer (match operations support).
- Membership, ticketing and gate entry.
- Ushering / seating assistance.
- Hospitality and VIP area assistants.
- Media and press support.
- Merchandise sales.
- Team liaison officers.
- Fan engagement and entertainment.
- Volunteer coordinator.
Eligibility criteria
The club says applicants need to:
- Be 18 years or older by October 1, 2024.
- Live in Auckland or arrange (and pay for) their own accommodation and travel to Auckland.
- Speak at least intermediate-level English.
- Be available for at least eight of 13 home games during the season.
- Be able to complete an online interview and attend all required training sessions.
- Pass a background check.
- Be responsible and enthusiastic.
- Be committed to contributing to the inaugural season of Auckland FC with pride and respect.
Why volunteer?
Auckland FC says its volunteers will help shape the foundation of the club in their debut season.
Volunteers will build skills in event management, operations, customer service and more, while meeting new people and joining a community of football fans, the club says.
Volunteers will “enjoy behind-the-scenes access, official merchandise and more”.
