Day of reckoning settles Central League participation for next season

A day of sudden death play-offs has decided which clubs will compete in the Central League and its new second division next season.

The Rory Fallon-coached Upper Hutt City will play in the 2025 Central League, replacing relegated Stop Out, after winning their two-legged promotion play-off 4-2 on aggregate against Palmerston North United.

Palmerston North United’s consolation is confirmation the club will be part of the inaugural Central League 2 next season.

A set of one-off play-off games at Massey University found the last four entrants to Central League 2.

The inaugural competition will comprise these 10 clubs:

  • Stop Out (relegated from Central League)
  • Lower Hutt City
  • Tawa
  • Palmerston North Marist
  • FC Western
  • Palmerston North United
  • Taradale
  • Te Kotahitanga

  • Seatoun
