Christchurch football lover Michael Jamieson has been recognised for his work to bring the joy of football into the lives of learning impaired children.
For 12 years, Jamieson has run Canterbury’s Sunshine Football Club, and the Southwest Football Foundation Trust, to help youngsters through football.
He’s chosen to step back from his formal roles but his work has been recognised by Seven Sharp’s ASB Good as Gold programme segment, in which ASB awarded him $10,000 for him and his family to take a special break away.
Mainland Football have also presented Jamieson with a greenstone toki, a token of gratitude from the wider football community.
