All White Ryan Thomas has signalled his return to fitness with a goal that proved to be the matchwinner for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven in their 2-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam.
Thomas (26) scored PSV’s second goal with four minutes left after Cody Gakpo darted into the box and then crossed. The Kiwi anticipated the pass to perfection and deftly turned the ball into the net.
Thomas will not be part of the New Zealand squad to play two internationals in Bahrain this month, having been left out of the squad to help protect his return from serious injury.
He’s recovering from a serious ankle injury that also kept him out of the New Zealand Olympics team.
