Rising coach Munith Naidu will head up an ambitious Beachlands Maraetai in this year’s Lotto NRFL second division after joining the Auckland club for the 2022 season.

Naidu has been appointed BMFC’s full-time Director of Football and as the club’s first-team head coach.

He has previously worked for Fencibles United and Bucklands Beach.

Announcing the new role, Beachlands Maraetai said:

“This role will see Munith take charge of First Kicks, Fun Football, co-ordinate grading, skills and talent centres along with a grassroots programme.

“Under Munith’s qualifications, he is also able to coach our coaches in-house under the NZF programmes. Having someone full-time on the ground will be a huge benefit for our kids.

“This is a much-needed appointment for the club as it will ensure we deliver a quality product for all levels of players.”

Naidu was Director of Coaching at Bucklands Beach for three years before leaving in 2018 for a Director of Football role at Fencibles.

He had previously held coaching roles with Auckland Football Federation youth rep sides, with North Queensland Football and with youth teams at the Northern Fury, previously known as North Queensland Fury.

His qualifications include an Asian Confederation C Licence.
