Long-time volunteer Clare Elson has been recognised for her contributions to Papakura City FC with a Life Membership.

The club granted her the honour at their Annual General Meeting this summer, adding her to a list of those who have made outstanding contributions to the progress of the club.

Over the years, she has served as club secretary, club manager and has been the team manager for many squads.

In an acknowledgement of her achievements, the club announced the Life Membership, saying:

“There is not a big enough thank you that any of us could make, to make up for the work and dedication you have put in throughout the countless years with the club!

“We are absolutely honoured to announce Clare was deservedly nominated and accepted as our latest Life Member.

“Words do very little to help us express what Clare means to the club; she has been an integral part of the club in many ways for a number of years.

“She is the go-to person for the goings-on in the senior club and a friendly face flitting around the clubrooms and fields.

“For all the work she has done for the club to date and the work we hope she continues with in the future we can’t thank you enough, Clare!”
