North Shore and Takapuna clubs combine efforts to boost youth coaching

North Shore United and Takapuna AFC are working together to deliver two youth level coaching courses on March 21 and 28.

The three-hour courses will help those at the start of their coaching career or those in the early stages.

The two Auckland clubs will jointly deliver the courses.

Takapuna will host the Youth Level 1 course at their Taharoto Park clubrooms on Monday March 21 (5.30pm-8.30pm).

North Shore will hold the Youth Level 2 course at their Allen Hill Stadium clubrooms on Monday March 28 (5.30pm-8.30pm).

The North Shore club said they had 37 coaches aged 16 or younger last year, coaching children in the First Kicks and junior grades.

“That’s a staggering amount of young, local, enthusiastic coaches. For many of those coaches, 2021 was the start of their coaching journey,” the club says.

Aspiring coaches, especially in the youth space, are asked to contact United’s Football Development Manager, Ryan Ward, by email at fdm@nsu.org.nz.
