Wellington Phoenix to return to Auckland’s Eden Park for late April fixture

Aucklanders will get the chance to cheer on the Wellington Phoenix at Eden Park in late April when they host Western Sydney Wanderers in the men’s Isuzu Ute A-League.

Friends of Football will explore hospitality options for the match and urge members to check this website for updates.

The game is scheduled for Sunday April 24 with a 3.05pm kick-off.

A week earlier, the Phoenix will play Central Coast Mariners at Sky Stadium, Wellington (Sunday April 17, 3.05pm).

These will be the club’s first A-League fixtures on home soil for more than 300 days and follow the easing of restrictions for outdoor events.

‘We can’t wait to play in front of our fans again’

General manager David Dome told the official Phoenix website:

“We can’t wait to play in front of our fans again.

“We hope it will be the boost the team needs to push them into the finals in May.”

Last May, more than 22,000 fans saw the Phoenix play Perth Glory at Eden Park.

Friends of Football members filled two hospitality suites, enjoying the game in style.

Friends of Football chair Josh Easby said:

“Our members and guests always make the most of their chances to get behind the Phoenix and we’ll be doing our utmost to make April’s game an afternoon to remember.

“For those who want to join us, there’s never been a better time to become a member of Friends of Football.”
