Hungerball provides opening day joy for over-45s, women and youngsters

posted in: Events

Northern Rovers celebrated the start of their new season with a day of fun and action using the inflatable Hungerball Arena at their McFetridge Park headquarters.

The arena hosted a mini-tournament of 3 v 3 games for over-45s players before members of the club’s Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League squad split into four teams for a hectic series of games against each other, and some of the men’s teams.

In the over-45s final, The Roosters beat RE-UTD.

When the adults finished, children queued to have their own go at the thrill-a-minute form of football in which players defend six small goals in the circular arena.

The Hungerball event, supported by Friends of Football, was an excellent way for Northern Rovers to combine fun activities with the serious business of starting their Lotto NRFL season, in which the club beat Albany United 1-0.
