New national team manager sought for Ferns ahead of 2023 FIFA World Cup

New Zealand Football are looking to appoint a new team manager for the Football Ferns ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup finals to be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.

The recruitment of the position is being managed by sports specialists Global Elite who describe the role as:

“The women’s National Team Manager is responsible for the planning, administration and management of all New Zealand Football’s women’s national teams in the lead up to and during the FIFA Women’s World Cup – Australia and New Zealand 2023.

“Overseeing one direct report, other key components of the role include the planning and co-ordination of team travel and logistics, being the primary contact point with team management, liaising with players and other stakeholders, managing kit and equipment requirements as well as travelling with the team as required.”

The ideal candidate, say Global Elite, will have:

  • Prior experience or involvement in the management of an international, professional or other high performing sports team.
  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building ability.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to communicate, inspire and ensure ‘buy in’ from a diverse range of stakeholders.
