After a year of disruptions caused by COVID, Onehunga Mangere United’s members can finally celebrate the 100th anniversary of their club.
Founded in 1921, the club was to enjoy a series of functions and activities last year but they were delayed until they could be properly enjoyed.
The main focus of the celebrations will be this weekend (May 20-22).
On Friday, the club is holding a sold-out formal dinner to mark the occasion.
On Saturday, a hundred children will take part in a special event called ‘100 kids for 100 years’.
There’ll be a club night on Saturday evening and more celebrations on Sunday highlighting the achievements of women at the club.
United have also published a commemorative book titled From the Farm to the Mountain – Centenary Edition – 100 years of History.
It can be ordered online for $50 by clicking here >>>>
