West Coast Rangers and Ellerslie shared the points with a 1-1 draw in the only fixture of the weekend for the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League.
The two teams were expected to have a close encounter, given their similar records and positions in the league — too far off the pace to threaten the frontrunners but well clear of the bottom places.
And so it was when they met at Fred Taylor Park.
Jemma McCormack gave Ellerslie the lead in the 29th minute, and the Ponies went into half-time 1-0 up.
But Rangers bounced back through substitute Anna Sluyter who levelled in the 59th minute.
That’s how it stayed; honours shared.
