Want to volunteer for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup? Here’s your chance

The organisers of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup have invited expressions of interest from those who want to be considered for volunteer roles at the event.

The tournament — the world’s biggest women’s sporting event — will be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia from July 20 to August 20, 2023.

FIFA are seeking volunteers to help in the following New Zealand host cities:

Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau (NZ)
Dunedin / Ōtepoti (NZ)
Hamilton / Kirikiriroa (NZ)
Wellington / Te Whanganui-A-Tara (NZ)

FIFA expects to engage about 5,000 volunteers across the two host countries.

In their explanation of the roles, organisers say:

“We will be looking for volunteers to join us for long-term positions, as well as various test events prior to the tournament in July/August 2023 and play a role in the success of this global mega event.”
