Two floodlit games provide midweek entertainment options for northern spectators

Football fans in Auckland can enjoy two midweek matches this week with Northern League and Chatham Cup fixtures.

On Tuesday (July 19), newly-crowned Northern League champions Auckland City will host Manukau United at the Croatian Cultural Club (7pm) in a rescheduled league match.

The fixture has been brought forward to help clear Auckland City’s schedule which includes participation in the OFC Champions League tournament to be held next month in Auckland.

On Wednesday (July 20), Birkenhead United meet Eastern Suburbs in a delayed Chatham Cup fourth-round tie at Shepherds Park, Birkenhead (7pm).

The tie was postponed because of COVID issues.

The winners of the match will travel to Waiheke United for a quarter-final to be played over the weekend of July 30-31.
