Waikato Unicol have taken over as leaders of both the WaiBOP Premiership and WaiBOP Championship after weekend results favoured them.
In the Premiership, they stay in top spot, despite drawing 3-3 with mid-table Melville United, though Taupo have reduced Unicol’s lead to a point.
In the Championship, Otumoetai’s surprise loss to Tokoroa means three clubs are tied on points but Unicol lead on goal difference.
In Sunday’s WaiBOP W-League fixtures, Otumoetai United drew 0-0 in a top-of-the-table match with Lakes that kept the gap between them at nine points.
