Former OlyWhite and New Zealand age group international Adam Thomas has joined Irish club Galway United on loan till the end of the season.
Hamilton-born Thomas (30), who is under contract to League of Ireland club Shelbourne, will now go into Galway’s defence in the League’s first division.
“I’m very happy to be here and looking forward to getting started,” Thomas told Irish media.
“I can’t wait; I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and the city as well. I’ve got a few friends who know some of the players here. I’ve heard lots of good things.
“I work hard; I am very athletic and like to think I’m pretty good on the ball and give everything for the team and club wherever I’m asked to play or how long I’m asked to play.”
Thomas’ career has been plagued by injury and he lost six seasons to injuries including a meniscus tear in his knee, hip surgery and two ankle operations.
With the help of specialists, and learning suitable mobility and stretching exercises, Thomas has made a gradual comeback and he moved to Ireland in 2021.
