Northern Rovers can take a crucial step closer to becoming northern football’s women’s champions when they meet nearest rivals Auckland United under lights on Thursday evening.
The fixture at Becroft Park brings together the top two teams in the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League.
Victory to Rovers will give them a 15-point lead with five games to go, almost certainly ensuring they become the new title holders.
Auckland United will want to at least put Rovers’ celebrations on hold for another week at least, so spectators can expect a decent showcase for women’s football in the Northern and WaiBOP regions.
The game kicks off at 7pm.
