Striker scores eight goals to clinch WaiBOP Championship for Cambridge

Eight goals by striker Dylan Blair powered Cambridge to a 10-0 win against Papamoa to seal the club’s WaiBOP Championship title.

Going into their last fixture of the competition, Cambridge had to beat lowly Papamoa away but also needed to keep an eye on other results.

As it turned out, nearest rival Otumoetai’s 4-2 win at Matamata was not enough to overhaul Cambridge’s goal difference, and Tauranga City’s loss at Tokoroa ruled out any lingering hopes the Bay side could catch them.
