Northern Rovers get chance to avenge loss in Kate Sheppard Cup final

The opening weekend of the new-look Women’s National League has thrown up a juicy fixture for Auckland spectators.

The first round games on Sunday, include a match between Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League champions Northern Rovers and the winners of the Kate Sheppard Cup, Auckland United.

Only a week ago, the two clubs met in the Kate Sheppard Cup final, with United winning 1-0 in an evenly-contested game at North Harbour Stadium.

Auckland United will host Rovers at Keith Hay Park at 3pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in Auckland’s other national league game, Western Springs host Southern United at Seddon Fields (1pm).
