Kate Sheppard Cup final stars Martine Puketapu and Katie Duncan have called curtains on their season, deciding not to play for Auckland United in the new Women’s National League.
The former Football Ferns have decided their successful roles in United’s 1-0 cup final win against Northern Rovers will be their last for the year.
Neither player was in the United squad for Sunday’s National League game against Northern Rovers.
In the Kate Sheppard Cup final, Puketapu scored the game’s winning goal, while Duncan won the Maia Jackman Trophy for Player of the Final.
Duncan has played 125 times for the Football Ferns while Puketapu has four caps.
