A team of 10 stadium staff will work through Saturday night to transform Auckland’s Eden Park from a rugby ground into a venue suitable for Sunday’s All Whites game against Australia’s Socceroos.
After Saturday matches for rugby’s All Blacks and Black Ferns, the team of groundstaff will wash off line paint, switch goalposts, mow the surface and repaint the lines.
“We’ve practised it a few times and it kind of works so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t,” says Eden Park turf manager Blair Christiansen.
1News asked Christiansen how he and his team will transform Eden Park for football’s big match.
