In case you missed it: The inspirational story of ‘our’ Jonno

posted in: News, Recognition

To readers of Friends of Football’s website, he’s Jonno Ross, the guy who writes about Northern League and the Lotto NRFL.

He’s one of our volunteer writers whose passion for football comes through in everything he writes. Now, for once, he’s the subject of the story, not its teller.

He’s shared his football story through Sky Sport’s Football Fix programme, telling how a motor accident in 2011 changed his life.

At the time of the accident, he was one of New Zealand’s most promising young goalkeepers.

Though he can no longer play, Jonno feeds his passion for football in other ways — team manager for Mt Albert Ponsonby’s first team, a media writer for the New Zealand Football Foundation and a valued contributor to our website.

We’re proud to have him as part of the Friends of Football team.

Here’s his story …
