Matamata Swifts honour four long-serving volunteers with life membership

Four long-serving volunteers have been granted life membership to recognise their contribution to Waikato club Matamata Swifts.

They are (pictured, left to right): Dwayne Barlow, Julie Clothier, Dave Taylor and Malcolm Raynel.

Announcing their inductions at the club’s annual prizegiving, the club pointed out that between them, they had contributed almost two centuries of service, in almost every club-related role possible.

The end-of-season event also named award winners for various categories.

2022 award winners

Club Person: Natalie Gaskell.
Outstanding Club Members: Whitney Wharawhara and Laura Fisher.
Personality: Sam Carswell.
Veteran Player: Aiden Miller.
Sportsmanship: Mary and Kiko Ontiveros.
Goalkeeper of the Year: Danny Ellis.
Club Leading Goal Scorers: Jamie Cox and Stacey McFarlane.
