Hamilton Wanderers trio take on herculean endurance challenge for charity

posted in: Events, News

Three Hamilton Wanderers players plan to climb to the summit of Mt Maunganui 38 times in 24 hours — the equivalent in height to Mt Everest.

Xavier Pratt, Aaron Bayliss and Brock Messenger aim to walk to the summit and back to ground level every 37 minutes, to achieve their herculean goal.

It’s all in aid of their efforts to raise $10,000 for the Mental Health Foundation.

They’ll undertake their challenge on Sunday October 23 and are inviting the football community to donate through their Givealittle page.

On the page, they trio say: “Mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in New Zealand. Every one of us has been affected in some way, losing loved ones to suicide, friends/family with depression or having poor mental health in general.

“Please feel free to share this post also so we can reach as many people as possible!”
