Greive dubbed “supersub” by Scottish media after All White scores late winner

posted in: All Whites, News

Scottish media are calling All Whites striker Alex Greive “supersub” after another key goal was scored by the New Zealander coming off the bench for St Mirren.

The former Birkenhead United player’s latest goal came late in St Mirren’s Scottish Premiership match against Dundee, when he scored the matchwinner only four minutes after his introduction to the match on October 22.

After the 2-1 win, which lifted St Mirren to fourth place, the Scottish Sun enthused about “supersub” Greive after his glancing header flew into the net, despite the attentions of two Dundee defenders.

Earlier this season, Greive came off the bench in the 86th minute to snatch a goal in added time that helped St Mirren beat Dundee United.
