Papakura City are the women’s Futsal SuperLeague champions after winning a tense penalty shootout to beat East Coast Bays in Sunday’s final.
The sides were tied 1-1 at the end of ordinary time at Auckland’s Pulman Arena and neither could find a way through in extra time.
The Papakura side kept their nerve to score all their penalties while Bays had one shot saved, giving their opponents the edge.

The final ended three days of action in Ford Futsal SuperLeague, the highest level of domestic competition for women’s futsal.
This was the first season in the SuperLeague for both finalists.
