Melville United midfielder Josh Galletly heads for trial with Melbourne City

posted in: News

Melville United’s in-form Josh Galletly is off to Australia for a trial with Melbourne City’s youth set-up.

Galletly played his final game for Melville last weekend, being named Player of the Match by coach Sam Wilkinson after scoring a thunderbolt free kick in United’s 4-3 Men’s National League win against Napier City Rovers.

Melville’s website says Galletly will trial with A-League club Melbourne City.

Galletly (19) has helped the Waikato side win their last four national league games in a row.

He’s been part of New Zealand U-17 and U-20 training squads, and was with the Wellington Phoenix academy in 2019-20.
