West Auckland appoint Daniel Menzies as first team coach for next season

West Auckland have appointed Daniel Menzies as their first team coach for next season’s Lotto NRFL Northern Conference campaign.

Menzies (28) has been the assistant coach for the side for the past two years and takes over from Scott MacKay who has left to join Metro FC as their head coach.

Making the announcement, West Auckland said: “Dan comes to the role with playing experience at top levels of football having played for Waitakere City, Papatoetoe FC, and Mt Albert Ponsonby in recent years.

“As a coach, he has coached top junior sides at Mt Albert Grammar over the past four years as well as having been the assistant coach at WAAFC for the last two years.

“This has been under the superb guidance of Scott MacKay with the aim of taking over the head coach role.”

Training programme

Training for West Auckland’s first team and the reserves U-23 side starts at Brains Park Kelston, on Tuesday February 7 at 6.30 pm, and every Tuesday and Thursday from then on.
