Football Ferns forward Hannah Wilkinson is in line to make her return to the A-League after being named in Melbourne City’s squad to play Perth Glory on Tuesday (December 27).
Wilkinson has been missing so far this season, sidelined through a quad injury that also excluded her from recent New Zealand international fixtures.
Coach Dario Vidosic told media Wilkson had taken part in City’s last training session before the Perth Glory game, which kicks off at 10.15pm (NZT).
“We’ll take into consideration today’s session. Wilkinson more than likely will play tomorrow night,” Vidosic said.
Wilkinson was in stunning form for Melbourne City last season, scoring 14 goals and two assists.
However, she caught COVID-19 while in the United States with the Football Ferns and missed three weeks’ football.
She said last November that she had tried too hard to push herself after being sick and this has damaged her quad.
