Long-time volunteer Simon Darby awarded Life Membership at FC Twenty II

A volunteer who turns his hand to all aspects of his club has been acknowledged with a Life Membership at Christchurch club FC Twenty 11.

Long-time club member Simon Darby was awarded Life Membership at the club’s recent Annual General Meeting.

Announcing the achievement, the club said:

“Simon has been involved with the club for too long to remember as a former board member, a regular coach in the First Kicks, Fun Football and women’s spaces.

“He is a constant advocate of the club and always happy to help out when help is needed.

“As part of the set up for First Kicks and Fun Football, Simon is seen every Saturday morning delivering the small goals from Avonhead Park to Burnside Park and then packing them up and taking them back.

“Simon also rolls back the ages by still playing all-age seniors in a decent division.

“This explanation doesn’t do justice to Simons’s effort, the Life Membership does.”
