North Shore United seek female lead coach to continue growth of club programme

North Shore United are looking to recruit a female lead coach to continue the growth of the club’s girls and women’s development programme.

In its advertisement, the club says it wants an “exceptional” coach who will work closely with United’s women’s first team head coach and the Female Football Leadership team.

“In 2022, we re-established our women’s first and reserves teams and we are keen to build on that foundation,” the club says.

Responsibilities

The Female Lead Coach will be responsible for:

  • Head Coach of Female Youth Development Squad
  • Head Coach of our Youth Female Development Programme
  • Head Coach of Girls Skill Centre Programme
  • Support the growth of the Coaching Curriculum and Game Model
  • Work within the local high school to provide support and assistance to their girls’ programme

Additional tasks

  • Oversee individual development plans of high-potential talent
  • Video analysis
  • Support holiday programmes and team tournaments

What’s needed

The club says a successful applicant will be highly self-motivated and can inspire others to be the best they can be.

“You are looking for a medium to long-term position to help make the club’s vision reality.”

The ideal candidate will have their C-Licence qualification or are working towards achieving it.

The successful applicant will be checked through the NZ Police vetting system.

“You will be required to work non-traditional hours and weekends however, as in the case with sport, the position may require some flexibility regarding the type of work required and the number of hours worked each week.

“Weekend and evening work will be required for the role.”
