Melville United take gold medal in over-50s competition at NZ Masters Games

Melville United have won the three-day NZ Masters Games 11-a-side football tournament for players over 50.

The side went unbeaten through the Whanganui tournament, conceding only one goal.

The final, against Kiwi Masters, was decided by a second-half penalty scored by Jason Chewins.

Goalscorers for Melville at the tournament were Shane Comber (4), Chewins (3), Julian Ford (2) and Daryl Ward (2).
