After a week of delays with paperwork, former All Whites winger Tyler Boyd has been confirmed as LA Galaxy’s latest signing.

The Major League Soccer franchise have confirmed the Tauranga-born midfielder has signed a one-year contract, starting on February 20, 2023.

How the Galaxy announced Boyd’s signing via Twitter.

LA Galaxy Head Coach and Sporting Director Greg Vanney said: “Tyler is a highly motivated player with a wealth of experience, a high work rate and a capacity to finish attacks. We look forward to integrating him into the team this season.”

Boyd (28) joins the Californian club after making 275 senior appearances for clubs in New Zealand, Portugal and Turkey.

He became a free agent in late 2022 when he and Turkish Süper Lig side Beşiktaş J.K. mutually agreed to end his contract.

Boyd has been training with Galaxy in pre-season and the club was given dispensation for him to turn out for them in a warm-up match against Portland Timbers.
