China appoints new head coach ahead of two-match series with All Whites

China have named experienced Serbian coach Aleksandar Janković as the head coach for their national team to play a two-match series against New Zealand’s All Whites.

Janković (50) has been the China team’s interim head coach since last year, and has coached China’s youth and U-23 teams since 2018.

Since playing as a midfielder in Australia, France and the United States, Janković has compiled a 24-year record as a coach with clubs in Serbia, including Red Star Belgrade, Russia and Belgium.

The China Football Association has named a 24-player squad for their tour to New Zealand.

The youngest player is 25 and the average age is almost 30.

An U-23 squad will also travel to New Zealand to play the curtain raiser games.

Tickets are on sale for the All Whites’ upcoming international friendlies against China to be played in Auckland and Wellington.

Tickets are available from $20 to $80 (adult) and $10 to $40 (children aged 2-14).
