Capital Football appoints coaches to two development roles

Capital Football have two new employees in Connol Modd as Federation Development Officer (Community Lead) and Milan Elie as Federation Development Officer (Club Support Lead).

Both are OFC/NZF C Licence-qualified coaches.

Wellingtonian Modd joins the federation having been an active coach for many years, most recently with North Wellington/Onslow Junior FC and previously with various Capital Football representative teams.

He told the Capital Football website:

“The football community in Wellington has been a second family to me following moving to New Zealand at an early age. I have had the pleasure to work with many incredible people through football in Wellington.

“I look forward to building more relationships across the region. I am a strong believer that football is for everyone. Continuing to make the game as accessible and welcoming to all players is an area that I am passionate about.”

Elle moves to Wellington from Auckland, having been heavily involved with Coach Education and the Talent Development Programme at East Coast Bays AFC as a Football Development Officer.

He is in the final phase of assessment for the OFC/NZF B Licence.

He said:

“Having worked as part of the football development community in Auckland for a while, I’m really looking forward to moving to Wellington to work with clubs to build on the positive steps taken in the Talent and Coach Education spaces over the past few years.

“I’m excited to meet everyone in the Capital Football community over the coming weeks.”

Federation Development Manager Steeve Sharpe said:

“We were impressed with the quality of applications for both roles and it is a testament to both Connol and Milan that they came through so well when interviewing.

“Connol and Milan are quite different personalities, but what they will both bring is a sincerity to offer a quality experience for our members. We are looking forward to having a full complement of development staff in place for 2023.”
