Auckland football writer Jonno Ross has made his debut as an interviewer for Sky Sports show The Kiwi Football Fix, quizzing Wellington Phoenix players Oli Sail and Tim Payne about impending player movement at the A-League club.
Ross, who writes for the NZ Football Foundation and Friends of Football, quizzed the pair about Sail’s imminent move to Perth Glory and put Sail on the spot, asking him to assess Payne’s value to the team.
Payne also recalled his youth playing when he turned out in the same Waitakere youth side as Ross, the side’s goalkeeper.
The interview featured in the March 15 show and you can enjoy it (and the rest of the show) here:

Jonno’s story
Last year, The Kiwi Football Fix featured the following story, relating how a motor accident in 2011 changed his life.
At the time of the accident, he was one of New Zealand’s most promising young goalkeepers.
Though he can no longer play, Jonno feeds his passion for football in other ways — team manager for Mt Albert Ponsonby’s first team, a media writer for the New Zealand Football Foundation and a valued contributor to our website.
