Local organisers offer ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ jobs at FIFA Women’s World Cup

Organisers are recruiting nine key roles to help ensure the smooth running of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin.

FIFA have set up a local subsidiary to employ staff “to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.”

The fixed-term roles are full-time positions.

The recruitment ads say: “If you are interested in a once-in-a-lifetime job in the sports industry, this is your chance.”

The roles are:

Competition Operations Manager (x3)

Locations: Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin.

Responsibilities — “Under the guidance of the Competition Manager and working alongside the wider competition team and in cooperation with other tournament Functional Areas and external stakeholders, the Competition Operations Manager will support the successful operational planning and implementation of all aspects of the competition management project at the respective venue in New Zealand.”

Responsibilities — “Under the guidance of the Competition Operations Manager and working alongside the wider competition team and in cooperation with other tournament Functional Areas and external stakeholders, the Competition Operations Coordinator will support the successful operational planning and implementation of all aspects of the competition management project at the respective venue in New Zealand.”

Hospitality Operations Venue Manager (x 3)

Locations: Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin.

Responsibilities — “The Hospitality Operations Venue Manager is responsible for the implementation, operational readiness and delivery of the FIFA Hospitality programmes in each venue, in close collaboration with the Local FIFA subsidiary (LFS), FIFA HQ, the Hospitality Rights Holder, the stadium authorities and other relevant stakeholders ensuring a consistently high-quality and professional delivery as well as the best possible on-site guest hospitality programme and services.”
