New Zealand international Kyle Adams scored a spectacular goal three minutes into stoppage time to send his San Diego Loyal side’s US Open Cup tie into extra time against Seattle Sounders.
Trailing 3-2, a San Diego attack was blocked and the ball fell clear to the tall All Whites defender who smashed it into the roof of the net from 30 metres.
Home side Seattle Sounders won the game 5-4 in extra time with Fredy Montero scoring the winner from the penalty spot in the game’s 123rd minute of play.
