Friends of Football has recognised the work and support of award-winning sports photographer Shane Wenzlick, presenting him with an inscribed memento.
Wenzlick has been Friends of Football’s official photographer since 2013, and his work appears on many of the 2,900+ pages of our website.
“Without the support and outstanding photography of Shane, we would have a very different-looking website, and we’d all be poorer for it,” Friends of Football chair Josh Easby says.
Friends of Football surprised Wenzlick with the presentation after he had finished photographing the induction of Arthur Egan to our roll of Medal of Excellence holders.
The presentation took place at Auckland City’s Kiwitea St headquarters on April 27, 2023, giving Friends of Football the opportunity to express their gratitude to Wenzlick before an appreciative football audience.

Wenzlick, who is the proprietor of photo agency Phototek, is a past winner of football’s Photographer of the Year and has been present at most of New Zealand’s key football moments this century.
