Former Football Fern Aimee Phillips was among the goals as Cashmere Technical became the first club to earn their place in the last 32 of this year’s Kate Sheppard Cup with a big win against Nomads United.

Phillips, an eight-cap international, opened the scoring in the 7th minute as Technical coasted to a 7-1 win against Nomads United at Avonhead Park.

The game was played under lights ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures in the first round of the NZ Football Foundation-sponsored Kate Sheppard Cup.

Phillips finished the night with two goals, while national league player Charlotte Roche grabbed a 10-minute hat-trick and Canterbury cricket rep Emma Kench also picked up a double.
