Top Northern League sides to go head-to-head in Chatham Cup’s second round

Northern League leaders Eastern Suburbs face third-placed Manurewa in the second round of the Chatham Cup.

Suburbs, beaten finalists in last year’s cup, will travel to high-flying Manurewa who have lost only once since winning promotion to the Northern League this season.

Cup holders Auckland City also face tough opposition in the second round of the cup, travelling to Keith Hay Park to face neighbours Auckland United in another of their Dominion Road derbies.

United are currently fourth in the Northern League.

West Auckland/Papakura City result overturned

Meanwhile, West Auckland were included in the draw at the expense of Papakura City, who beat them 9-8 on penalties after the two clubs were tied after extra time in their first round game.

NZ Football ruled Papakura City had fielded an ineligible player and the result was overturned.
