Ties set to reduce Kate Sheppard Cup field to 16 over long weekend

posted in: Kate Sheppard Cup, News

This year’s Kate Sheppard Cup has already found its first team to reach the last 16.

Otago University beat Mosgiel 3-0 in a midweek match to become the first side to qualify for the third round.

The other 15 qualifiers will come from second-round matches scheduled for King’s Birthday Weekend.

Six Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League sides have drawn each other in the round.

Holders Auckland United will host league rivals Hibiscus Coast, newly promoted to the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League, on Monday.

National League champions Eastern Suburbs will host last year’s Kate Sheppard Cup runners-ups Northern Rovers, while West Coast Rangers host Ellerslie.
